Who are the Minies?

The official description calls the residents Minies and frames friendship and shared daily life as part of the experience. Steam says players can invite Minies home, play eight instruments and share music and dance. PlayStation also describes exchanging gifts, creating memories and eventually inviting residents to move in, without publishing final requirements or values.
